Lafayette is a cross between Goldrush® Coop38 x Pristine The traits inherited from Goldrush® Coop38 allow Lafayette to be classified as a variety highly resistant to apple scab.

Lafayette blooms late, making it ideal for regions prone to late spring frosts. Good pollinators: Golden Delicious, Gala and Golden Gem, with similar blooming time.

Lafayette is one of the most attractive yellow apple varieties. Large, round, slightly flattened apples Highly aromatic, sweet with a slight note of acidity. The unique flavour qualities are additionally emphasised by the firmness and juiciness of the fruit.

Harvesting

Lafayette ripens early – 10-15 days before Gala (early to mid-September).

Storage

Short storage period: Regular cold storage: 1 to 1.5 months.

Suitability

The scab-resistant Lafayette is a very interesting and promising variety both in terms of cultivation and taste. The early harvest time, very attractive colour, hardness and excellent taste of the fruit allow it to be classified as a very promising early apple variety.
