Tree

Weaker growth compared to standard varieties, forms moderately dense, pyramidal crowns with numerous short spurs. It comes into fruition very early and bears fruit very abundantly (requires thinning of the fruitlets). Blooms mid-to-late season.

Fruit

Medium-sized, uniform, conical-round shape, tapering towards the calyx. Skin: Dry, greenish-yellow, covered 70-75% with a light red, blurry-striped blush. Lenticels: Medium-sized, grey. Stem: Fairly long and thin. Stem cavity: Medium deep and medium wide. Calyx cavity: Medium deep and medium wide to wide, slightly wrinkled. Calyx: Medium-sized, closed, with medium-length sepals. Flesh: Yellowish, medium firm, sweet-tart, flavourful

Early October, ~17 days before standard Pinova.

Early Pinova

Alnova apples ripen earlier than classic Pinova Striped fruit with improved colouration, ripening very quickly, with excellent shelf life and quality. Not subject to any club licensing restrictions, can be freely sold. Alnova tree manifests more compact growth habit than Pinova, with trees having a drooping growth pattern Since they can be planted closer together, similar yields are achieved per hectare as Pinova Harvest 2–3 weeks before standard Pinova, right after Gala, recommended harvesting in two stages.
